Stantonbury Parish Council has received complaints regarding domestic waste being stored, dumped or disposed of incorrectly and illegally. Rubbish becomes a health hazard when it is abandoned or disposed of incorrectly and can attract rats, which carry diseases that can cause serious illness in humans.
Your black wheelie bin (or sacks)/red and blue wheelie bins (or sacks)/green wheelie bins should be kept on your property at all times and should be made available at the property boundary after 5pm the day before collection or from 6am on the morning of your collection day.
To dispose of your unwanted items/rubbish it can be taken to one of our local tips which are located at:
- New Bradwell, Newport Road, MK13 0AH
- Newport Pagnell, North Crawley Road, MK16 9HG
- Bleak Hall, Chesney Wold, MK6 1NE
Alternatively, you may wish to contact the Environmental Helpline on 01908 252570 to arrange a collection call for your larger items You will be charged for this service, however they offer a concessionary charge if you are in receipt of benefits.
Please do not pile your sacks up or larger items on footpaths, walkways or outside other people’s properties – this is fly tipping and is an offence that could result in a penalty notice of £100 or possibly a fine of £1000.

Your questions answered:
Can I still use black sacks inside the black wheelie bins?
Yes. You may also use any leftover clear recycling sacks.
Can I put loose shredding into the red bin?
Yes, but please limit this to sensitive confidential information, rather than large loads of shredding.
Can street cleaning bags still be left for the refuse collectors on collection day? Where are the bags available from?
Yes, this will continue with the new contract. Please contact yourwaste@milton-keynes.gov.uk for further information.
Who should I contact if I wish to appeal against the bins?
Please use the Waste Collection Postcode Checker on the Milton Keynes City Council website to log a review: https://www.milton-keynes.gov.uk. If you do not have access to the internet, you may contact Milton Keynes City Council Customer Services on 01908 252570.
Can I use the food waste caddy during the winter months instead of the bins? Can I still use the biodegradable food waste bags?
Please use the food and garden waste collection service all year round. If you have a green bin, please make use of this as it is safer for the refuse collectors to move than the caddies. If you do not have a green bin, you should put the 23L caddy out. You can still use the biodegradable food waste bags.
